The church holds the key to defeating this modern-day plague. Children can suffer because of HIV/AIDS, even when they are not victims themselves simply because when a parent dies prematurely, the child's world collapses. Anxiety, depression and despair are common as the child tries to adjust to life without his or her parents and if dealing with grief isn't difficult enough, children are sometimes shunned by the community because they are feared (stigmatized). At the time when emotional support is needed most, people often turn away. It's usually not intentional. It happens because In-spite of the disastrous statistics surrounding the HIV/AIDS pandemic, there are many myths and misinformation about HIV/AIDS in our communities. You can sponsor a child with a monthly gift of US$35 so the child can be provided with clothing, scholastics, school dues and other essential needs like shelter and food.

SUPPORT A FAMILY

HIV/AIDS provides an opportunity for the Christian church and community to share the love of Christ with those who are suffering from the disease. Your gift will support programs that provide care to people with AIDS and their families, including home-based care and hospice programs. A US$50 gift per month can provide all the necessary resources including food, medication, and clothing or hygiene items to care for one family with home-based assistance for a month.

HELP FIGHT HIV/AIDS

With 42 million men, women, and children infected with HIV/AIDS, the medical needs facing mission hospitals and other medical facilities are enormous. Your gift will assist programs that provide medical care, including medications, counseling and testing to prevent further infection like mother-to-child transmission for those infected with HIV. A gift of US$25 can supply medication and post-natal counseling to chronically ill patients and to prevent one HIV-infected mother from passing on the virus to her child respectively and it can as well help decrease on the spread of HIV.

HELP FUNDRAISE

Working with vulnerable children is a concerted effort which needs a lot of hands and ideas to be put together. The problem of orphans does not only belong to people with orphans but it’s everybody’s problem. Throughout Africa, thousands of community based organizations (CBOs) are the front line response to the needs of children affected by HIV/AIDS but very few funds are reaching these grassroot levels. We therefore invite you to join us in addressing this funding gap, and to become part of our growing network of volunteers and supporters. PREACH ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Raise Awareness in your community, By giving a presentation to your child’s class or school, a civic group, work place notice board or your faith-based community. Contact us for outreach materials. Volunteer, Show your support for Cornerstone Hope Foundation to address the pandemic by giving your time, talents, or expertise. Host a house party, Invite your friends and family to your home and educate them about HIV/AIDS challenges in Africa and find solutions as a group.
