Safe clean drinking water is essential to human life and other life forms. Access to safe drinking water has improved steadily and substantially over the last decades in almost every part of the world. There is a clear correlation between access to safe water and GDP per capita. However, some observers have estimated that by 2025 more than half of the world population will be facing water-based vulnerability.
Keeping the importance of drinking water, CSHF has developed its capacity to intervene for improved access to safe clean water for poor and vulnerable communities of Uganda through activities like wells and springs protection and borehole maintenance and plans on well and spring constructions too.
Reducing diarrheal diseases and thereby improving health is a main objective for many water and sanitation programs. Hygiene is often referred to as the behaviors and measures which are used to break the chain of infection transmission at home and in the community.
CSHF is developing and training people of different communities on good hygienic practices like toilet washing facilities, Drinking water distillation facilities and hygiene talk shows and competitions so as to break the infection transmission chain for a better health.
Throughout Africa, thousands of community-based organizations are addressing the needs of children and families made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. These organizations are strengthening the traditional safety net of the extended family through wide ranges of vital programs and services often operating with minimal funding and with a great deal of volunteer support, community-based organisations are the front line response to the needs of people affected by HIV/AIDS. Very few funds are reaching this grassroots level that are working restlessly amongst the poor communities.
With 42 million men, women, and children infected with HIV/AIDS, the medical needs facing mission hospitals and other medical facilities are enormous. Your gifts will assist programs that provide medical care, including medications, laboratory investigations, HIV counseling and testing, PMTCT for those infected with HIV/AIDS.
